Student Activities

Art Club
Students participate in an after school advanced art club. They learn about different mediums while fully immersed in that medium.

Spelling Bee
Students learn competition, spelling strategies, and sportsmanship. They will participate in the school spelling bee and the All Constellation Spelling Bee.

National Junior Honor Society
NJHS promotes leadership and community service while encouraging high academic standards. We meet once a month and host many school and community activities.

Concept Science & Engineering Fair (CONSEF)
Students prepare for science programs and competitions. It encourages the appreciation of the importance of science in our daily lives.

Invention Fair
Eighth grade students prepare for the Invention Fair and competitions. It encourages the appreciation of the importance of science in our daily lives.

Student Council
Meets every Tuesday, before school begins all year long. Student Council is made up of students that are elected representatives for the Elementary and Middle School. Representatives are made up of students from 4th-8th grade. These students are liaisons between the students of the schools and the faculty. They help plan and organize events and fundraisers for the school. They work together to help benefit the students and the school.

Yearbook
Students work together to create the yearbook, providing a visual display of school year memories.

Honors Choir
This group is for advanced singers in grades 5-8. It is designed more for those who wish to improve their singing skills in a choral setting. We focus on ear training, listening, part singing and expression in music. Members of this select group have to audition and be chosen in order to participate. There are 22 members in Honors Choir who meet on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:00 PM - 3:30 PM.

Drum Circle
Let’s make music as a group! Come and find out the beauty of drumming as a community. This is open to any students during their grade’s assigned times. No experience necessary, and you don’t need to have your own instruments. We use floor drums, hand drums, metal, plastic and wood instruments of many shapes and sizes. Drum circle meets on Mondays from 3:00 PM - 3:30 PM.

Ukulele Club
Ukulele has fast become a very popular musical instrument for ALL ages! We spend afternoons learning basic chords and how to play some folk and popular tunes. No experience needed, we will start from the beginning. Each week we expand on what we learned the week before. We have school ukuleles available, but you can bring your own in if you have one. Ukulele club meets on Thursdays from 3:00 PM - 3:45 PM.

Volleyball
The students are able to be a part of a team, promoting academic excellence, respectful classroom behavior, and good sportsmanship on the court. The players practice after school and participate in skills development which includes fitness conditioning to provide success through athletics. The players have games against the other Constellation middle schools.

Basketball
Meets Monday-Friday after school from September to December during the Constellation regular season. Meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from February to March during tournament play.

The Falcons Basketball Team is made up of twelve 7th and 8th grade students. Our team is co-ed. In practice we work on drills and fitness, as well as sportsmanship and leadership. Academics are our top priority. Grades and missing assignments are checked weekly and teachers must sign off on an academic and behavior waiver for students to play that Saturday. The 2015-2016 team won the first basketball championship for the school.
