What's Happening

From the Desk of Principal Scott...

Kristina Scott, Principal

Welcome to Constellation Schools: Old Brooklyn Community Middle School (OBCM). Our Middle School serves grades 5-8.

I am honored and privileged to take on the role of principal this school year. I have been with Constellation Schools: Old Brooklyn Community for 5 years serving as the assistant principal.

We strive to provide an excellent education for our students built on a foundation of Character Education and through our school-wide Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS) program. We believe that each and every child deserves the opportunity to learn in a safe and nurturing environment with staff that encourages students to achieve personal success.

Our programs have a strong focus on academic achievement and character education. The teaching staff is all highly qualified in their area of teaching, and all content is based upon the Ohio Content Standards which include Common Core Standards for reading and math. Teachers provide data-driven instruction which enables them to ensure that the students are mastering the essential skills and concepts. Individualized or small group instruction is provided to students to help enhance instruction.

Old Brooklyn Community Middle offers a technology-rich environment that prepares young minds for the ever-changing world around us. With our 1:1 laptop initiative for 5th-8th grade, students will learn skills necessary for success in career, college, and life.

A variety of after school activities and clubs are offered for all age levels, providing the opportunity for the students to become involved within their interest areas.

Our staff works closely together to educate our students in a cooperative and respectful environment with strong parental support and participation. We truly believe that we truly are “The Right Choice for Parents and a Real Chance for Children” of the Old Brooklyn Community. We look forward to a great year for the Falcons. We encourage you to get involved in your child’s education. A great way to get involved is to volunteer and to reach out to our PTT. We have a tremendous group of parents who help provide exciting learning opportunities.
